Leif hoped that his second coming out, wasn’t going to end in death and mayhem, like the first time did. But long lost relatives with ties to organized crime, conspiracies and his dead sister’s lover have other plans…
Coming back home to the town which had cost him his family, wasn’t his first choice but for a dear friend? He would jump through fire if she required it. However, when she insists he’d team up with Mark, his dead sister’s lover, things start spiraling out of control. Long lost family with ties to organized crime, conspiracies and someone out to finish what they started years ago, will change Leif’s life in more ways than he could have ever possibly imagined.
Everything comes to a head on an author retreat where the famous L.M.M, author of countless successful novels and Leif’s alter ego, is about to come out of the closet and announce to the world who he really is. Will his second coming out end in death and mayhem like it did the first time around?
Elise from sensualreads calls DARKEST HOUR: "Mysteries and mayhem, twists and turns plaque our hero in Darkest Hour, a fantastic novel by Anna Marie May.

Mark and Leif’s ‘relationship’ is a lot more complex than it first looks, and I have to admire an author that brings to the fore a difficult relationship… having the characters face the reality that things would have been different if Leif’s sister hadn’t died, and also having both Leif and Mark discussing just why Mark is interested in Leif and the doubts that Leif has, the storyline was very well written and I liked the fact that it wasn’t the sole focus. I also really liked that there’s no declaring undying love, it’s a very tentative relationship that is driven by attraction but don’t be expecting hot sex on every page.
I have to recommend this story to those who love mystery, suspense, danger, hidden surprises, some hot sex and a relationship that has promise.

I couldn’t help but like Leif. He is a kind, humble person who is just trying to get by the best he can but he seems to attract trouble like a magnet. In a very short period of time, Leif’s life changes forever. Will he be able to handle the changes thrown at him, put the past to rest and move forward with his life? I rooted for him and enjoyed watching him face things that terrified him with courage and dignity.

Accepting a bet to seduce any guy his friend chooses puts Zach McKinney in the path of Len Marshall. Smitten immediately, Zach forgets about the bet and falls in love until Len's past catches up with them, putting them both in danger.
For Len Marshall, meeting Zach was akin to destiny. It not only brought love into his life, but made him feel like he has a home. The new relationship, though, is overshadowed by a past blocked from Len's memory and by individuals who want to make sure those memories stay buried. Can love built on shadows pass the test of time? Or will their happiness be destroyed again by men who took Len's life away years ago?

While reading 'Betting on Love' by Anna Marie May, a phrase from a song entitled 'One of These Days’, by recording artist Taylor Dayne kept running through my mind: “One of these days our love will lead you back”.
One of my favorite features of any story is character growth and this story is overflowing with it. Almost everyone in the story, at one point or the other, reaches a higher level of perception for themselves and others around them. I especially loved Zac and Len's relationship, how they are so deeply and endlessly in love. It's absolutely heartwarming. 'Betting on Love' is a great love story with something for everyone—angst, adversity, deceit, danger, passion, devotion, and a very happy ending. I highly recommend it to anyone with a romantic soul like mine who believes that true love is eternal and invincible.
Review by Teresa (HERE), fallenangelreviews:
I was intrigued and stunned by the plot twist in this story, as I never expected it. As Len's story unfolded, I was inspired by his strength to move beyond the trials of his childhood and on to building a life for himself. Zach never knew what hit him after meeting Len for the first time, but to his credit, he never looked back or questioned his feelings. It has to be a parent's worst nightmare to have a child abducted and one that luckily, I've never had to live through, but Karen's determination to help her friend Louisa find her son was stirring. It was remarkable how Len and Zach seemed to know things about each other that one normally wouldn't know about a stranger, making me wonder if there's more yet to be uncovered. This is one story that I will never forget!

Love For Hire

Love For Hire by Anna Marie May
Was 2nd bestelling gay book on ARe in the week starting 24 October 2011! - www.allromanceebooks.com
Book 1 - This book can be read as a standalone but it is part of a longer series and thus the ending is a bit open ended. It sets up what is to follow so not all questions are answered.
Hustler and art aficionado Jayden Collins doesn't expect much out of life, so when rich playboy Matt Archer not only saves his life but offers to pay him to pretend to be his boyfriend, it seems too good to be true. The guarded, cautious Jayden takes him up on the offer, but he never expects to fall in love with his snobbish, inconsiderate client.
Jayden doesn't have much time to think about it, though, because his life is in danger—apparently someone is trying to kill him. Or so he thinks until he discovers Matt's secret. Furious to learn of his employer's deceit, Jayden leaves Matt, breaking his own heart in the process. But Matt is used to getting what he wants... and he's not going to let go so easily.
